With a Friday holiday date, the 2025 July 4th celebration in East Brewton will begin a long weekend of activities.
On Friday morning beginning at 9 a.m., those who enjoy a good game of spades can get involved in the annual Spades Tournament. The event, set at the S.A.I.L. Center on Williamson Street in East Brewton, begins at 9 a.m. An entry fee of $5 per person or $10 per team will be charged for participation.
The S.A.I.L. Center will also be the site of the anticipated Bingo session beginning at 1 p.m. With a wide range of prizes up for grabs, Bingo cards will be going for $2 each.
Concessions will be available at the tournament and Bingo session offering a variety of treats to keep players sustained for the day.
The activities will move to Fort Crawford Park in East Brewton for the annual horse shoe tournament at 4 p.m. with a simultaneous running of the Ducks. Ducks will be racing to the finish line to pay the cash prizes for first, second and third places. Ducks can be purchased for $5 each until Thursday at East Brewton City Hall or until the end of the Bingo session at the S.A.I.L. Center.
The finale for the day-long celebration will be at 9 p.m. when the fireworks display kicks off.
Parking around Fort Crawford Park and across the community will give viewers a chance to see the culmination of the day.
