WSN’s JV baseball team swept at Northview Thursday

The W.S. Neal JV baseball team was swept Thursday as the Northview Chiefs claimed two wins over the Eagles of East Brewton to drop WSN to 3-5 overall this season.
In game one, WSN was held to one hit in a 10-2 loss, and suffered a 5-2 defeat in game two.
Game one: Northview 10, WSN JV 2
In game one, Northview scored seven runs in the fourth inning and held WSN to only one hit as they defeated the Eagles 10-2.
WSN led Northview 2-0 after the top of the second inning, but fell to 10 unanswered runs to take the loss by eight. Northview scored one run in the bottom of the second, two in the third and seven in the fourth to get the win.
Kristian Taylor had the lone hit as he had a double in the loss.
Weston Riddle and Jeremy Gafford pitched in the loss with Riddle being the pitcher of record.
Riddle went three innings of work and allowed five hits, eight runs, five earned, walked one, struck out one and hit two batters.
Gafford went one inning and allowed three hits, two earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Game two: Northview 5, WSN JV 2
In game two, WSN had three hits and two errors while the Chiefs pounded out 11 hits to take a 5-2 win.
Jacobey Hawthorne took the loss on the mound for the Eagles as he went four innings and allowed seven hits, five earned runs, walked one, hit one and struck out six.
At the plate for WSN, Sam Frazier, Hawthorne and Cameron Taylor all had one hit each.
Northview led WSN 3-0 after two innings and 4-0 after three innings. WSN added one run each in the fourth and fifth innings while Northview added their final run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
