What can you get done in a day?

What can you get done in a day? We think you’d be amazed at just how much happens in Brewton and East Brewton in 24 hours — from early-morning delivery of everything from newspapers to bread to late-night visits to the emergency room.

This year, our Progress edition will focus on a day in the life of our community, and we have already discovered much more than we ever knew about what happens behind the scenes.

Not only that, we are also learning about some of the extraordinary people who are doing seemingly ordinary things.

But we want you to be part of our annual Progress edition, too. This year we are again sponsoring a photo contest, and we invite you to submit your photos of what happens during a day in your life or your family’s life.

It might be playing at the park or hunting from a deer stand, putting in some time at the job or just spending time with family.

We invite you to email your photos by Jan. 31 to newsroom@brewtonstandard.com, or drop them off at our office at 407 St. Nicholas Ave.

First prize will be $100, with additional prizes for other winners.

We hope you will take part and show us how you spend your days.
