EB Mariners win championship Thursday

The East Brewton Mariners took down the East Brewton Braves 16-6 Thursday night in East Brewton to clinch the league championship.
The Mariners led the Braves 4-1 after one inning and took a 5-2 lead in the third inning. In the fourth, the Mariners pounded out 11 runs to grab a 16-2 lead. Although the Braves plated four in the bottom of the inning, the Mariners were able to grab the 10-run win.
Walker Hoomes and Jordan Crane pitched in the win. The duo combined to go four innings and allowed six runs on nine hits, struck out three and walked four while hitting one. Of the six runs, four were earned.
At the plate, Jordan Sims had two hits with two RBIs and five stolen bases while Jordan Crane had two hits and two doubles while getting three RBIs and five stolen bases. Gavin Leggett added two hits and three RBIs with four stolen bases while Ke’Shan Paul had one RBI and three stolen bases.
Hoomes chipped in two RBIs and three stolen bases, Marion Lane had a single and a double and one RBI and three stolen bases while Gaige Moulder had a single, one RBI and two stolen bases.
Langham Parr finished with one RBI and two stolen bases while Evan Hartsel added three hits, a double, two RBIs and three stolen bases.
The Mariners will end their season Tuesday against the East Brewton Cubs.
