Central sweeps WSN in home opener Monday

In their first home games of the season Monday, Central swept all three W.S. Neal basketball teams.
The B-team Eagles lost 42-11 while the Lady Eagles lost 50-28. In varsity boy’s action, WSN lost 76-49.
With the losses, the B-team Eagles fell to 2-2 overall while the Lady Eagles dropped to 2-8 and the boys fell to 4-6.

Central 42, WSN B-team 11
Central scored early and often and held WSN off the scoreboard for most of the game as they claimed a 31-point win over the Eagles.
Central led WSNS 15-0 after one quarter and 28-5 at the half. In the third quarter, Central outscored WSN 12-4 to take a 40-9 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, both teams scored two points each.
Matthew Brown and Tyrese Anderson led WSN with five points each while De’Ron Smith added one point.

Central 50, WSN Lady Eagles 28
The WSN Lady Eagles lost their seventh straight game as they suffered a 50-28 loss.
Central led WSN 8-5 after one quarter and 18-14 at the half. The third quarter was the difference in the game as they outscored the Lady Eagles 11-1 to grab a 29-15 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Central ended the game on a 21-13 run to get the 32-point win.
KeKe Floyd led with 14 points while Marisha Fraser added six points. Alyssa English and MiMi Lawson both had four points each.
Floyd led with nine rebounds and three steals. Fraser added seven rebounds in the loss.

Central 76, WSN varsity boys 49
In varsity action, Central took down WSN by 27 points, 76-49.
The Jags led WSN 12-8 after one quarter and 31-19 at the half following a 19-11 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Central outscored WSN 21-13 to take a 52-32 lead. In the fourth, Central outscored the Eagles of East Brewton 24-17.
DJ Hodges led with 14 points while Tyshawn Davis had 13 and Troy Lewis had 10. Treylon Watson added eight while Jacolbey Hawthorne and Andre Womack both had two points each.
Hodges led with seven rebounds and four assists in the win. Davis led with three steal and two blocks.
