The Brewton Airport will be the site for the first Brewton Spring Fly-in Saturday.

Aircraft of all kinds will be flying in and on display Saturday at the first Brewton Spring Fly-in at the Brewton Municipal Airport.

The Spring Fly-In, presented by Aviation Specialists, the City of Brewton Municipal Airport and the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the airport, located at 205 Airport Drive.

There is no admission or entry fee and there will be best-in-show awards for each class.

The fly-in will feature Navy and State Police aircraft, remote controlled airplanes, a motorcycle and car show, hot air balloon, tail draggers, choppers, sport bikes, classic cars, customs, Cessnas, Harleys, helicopters, gyros and more.

Plane rides will also be available to the public for a fee.

Brewton Broadcasting and Dennis Dunaway will emcee and host a live remote.

General concessions will be available and provided by the Brewton Kiwanis Club. Concessions will include hamburgers, sausage dogs, chips and drinks.

A free shuttle to downtown Brewton merchants will be available for gift or antique shopping. The shuttle will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will pick up/drop off every hour from the airport to the downtown boardwalk area.

The Airport has coordinated an arts show competition with Brewton and W.S. Neal Middle schools. The winner will receive a free flight lesson.

The Hourglass antique store will be open and is hosting a yard sale coordinated by the Escambia County Historical Society.

“There will be something for everyone to enjoy,” said Michelle Hart, administrative assistant for the Brewton Chamber of Commerce.

Hart said organizers wanted to thank F&S Environmental Restoration and Drying, who is the major sponsor for the fly-in, as well as The Farm Center, Brewton Kiwanis Club and the City of Brewton’s Police and Public Works departments for their assistance with the event.
