Customers at Magnolia Superfoods in East Brewton may have noticed some changes in the store over the past few weeks.

Michael Scott, manager of the grocery store, said the changes are being made to upgrade the store and bring convenience to the customers.

“The work we’ve already done and work planned will make the store really nice,” Scott said. “We are doing what we can to making shopping at Superfoods a nice experience.”

Scott said a new entrance has already been completed at the front of the store and new checkout lanes have been installed.

“The whole front of the store has been redone and updated,” Scott said. “The new entry makes it convenient for our customers and the other work will help them to get in and out of the store faster.”

Scott said more work is being planned beyond a new entry and checkouts.

“We have already had some prep work done so that the entire building can be repainted outside,” Scott said. “Repainting will freshen the building and help things look nice.”

Other work planned at the store includes repairing some damaged flooring and have the entire floor area refinished.

“We have some repairs to make on some of the tiles in the store,” Scott said. “Some of that is because of the flood in December and some is just due to age. We are going to get the entire floor refinished once all the repairs are complete.”

Scott said the remaining portion of the facelift for the store should be complete within one to two weeks.

“We want to get everything finished as quickly as we can,” Scott said. “We want our customers to enjoy shopping we us and by giving them a nice place to shop we hope it shows how much we appreciate their business.”

Magnolia Superfoods is located in the Magnolia Shopping Center on Forrest Avenue in East Brewton. The store is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. offering grocery needs including fresh produce, dairy, meats and a full-service deli.
