EBLL Cardinals get first league win

Monday in East Brewton Little League, the Cardinals earned the first league win of the season with an 8-2 win over the Flomaton Braves.
The Flomaton Red Sox and East Brewton Dodgers were also winners Monday in East Brewton as the Red Sox downed the Yankees 4-3 and the Dodgers upended the Red Sox 6-5.
In interleague play Friday, the Brewton Tigers defeated the East Brewton Cardinals 14-5 while the Brewton Rockies defeated the East Brewton Yankees 9-2.
In interleague softball action Monday, the East Brewton Racers were able to get East Brewton a win with a 10-9 win over the Brewton Racers.

Will Smith and Jonathan Lucas had homeruns for the Tigers while Duncan Brittain, Deangelo Thomas, and Austin Holmes all had doubles in a 14-5 win over the East Brewton Cardinals.
Stokes Jennings and Holmes combined for the win on the mound for the Tigers as they allowed five runs on seven hits, walked four and struck out eight.
Smith was 2-for-2 with a homerun and Jennings was 2-for-3. Lucas was 1-for-2 with a homerun and Brittain was 1-for-2 with a double.
Thomas was 1-for-1 with a double and Holmes was 1-for-4 with a double.
Malcolm Hawthorne, Derrick Barton, and Duane Hamby pitched in the loss for the Cardinals.
At the plate, Lane Chavers was 2-for-3 with a double and Hamby was 1-for-3.
Hawthorne was 1-for-1 with a double and Marcus Simmons was 1-for-3 with a double. Charlie Land and Logan Morrill was 1-for-2.
Brewton Rockies 9,
EB Yankees 2
While both teams had three hits, the Rockies took a 9-2 win over the East Brewton Yankees.
Alex Daughtery and Kellyn Winn pitched in the win allowing two runs on three hits, walked two and allowed seven hits.
Hunter Brittain was 1-for-1 with a double and Chris Gehman was 1-for-2 and O’Neil White was 1-for-1.
For the Yankees, Dakota Graves and Blake McGraw pitched in the loss allowing nine runs on three hits, walked eight and struck out three.
Bryce Booker was 1-for-1 and Andrew Langham was 1-for-2. Dalton Shell was 1-for-2 with a double in the loss.

Brewton Racers 9
In a battle of the Racers, East Brewton edged out Brewton 10-9.
Caitlin Chavers earned the win on the mound for East Brewton allowing nine runs on four hits, walked 14 and stuck out five.
Anna Grace White and Myra Reiss pitched in the loss for the Racers allowing 10 runs one three hits, walked 14 and struck out five.
Abbie Sessions was 1-for-1 with a double for the East Brewton Racers while Andrea Hammac was 1-for-2 and Ashley Gibson was 1-for-1.
For Brewton, Jordan Blount was 2-for-3 and Desiree Lambert was 1-for-1. Myra Reiss was 1-for-3.

Flomaton Braves 2
TyShawn Davis earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals with a 3-for-3 with all the Cardinal hits in an 8-2 win over Flomaton.
Davis allowed two runs on one hit, walked three and struck out five and was 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a triple.
For Flomaton, Hayden Hammond and Conner White pitched in the loss allowing eight runs on three hits, walked seven and struck out seven.
Seth Egee was 1-for-2 for the lone hit in the game for Flomaton.

EB Yankees 3
The Yankees lost their second straight game Monday with a 4-3 loss to the Red Sox of Flomaton.
Hunter Colley and Kainoa Gumapac earned the win on the mound allowing three runs on two hits, walked four and struck out seven in the win.
Kevin Gumapac was 1-for-3 with a triple and John Hendricks was 1-for-2 with a triple as well.
Tyler Weaver was 1-for-3 and Kainoa Gumapac was 1-for-2.
For East Brewton, Colton Morris, Dalton Shell, and Blake McGraw pitched in the loss allowing four runs on four hits, walked four and struck out 10.
Andrew Langham was 1-for-2 and Shell was 1-for-1.
EB Dodgers 6, Red Sox 5
In 9- and 10-year-old action Monday, the Dodgers took down the Red Sox 6-5.
Jeremy Sims and Conner Huskey earned the win on the mound allowing five runs on three hits, walked three and struck out six.
Jacolby Hawthorne and Huskey were both 1-for-2 in the win and Brandon Moye and Josh Barksdale were both 1-for-3. Jacob Crane was 1-for-1.
For the Red Sox, Matt Hutchins took the loss allowing six runs on five hits, walked six and struck out seven.
Hutchins was 2-for-3 and P.J. Lovelace was 1-for-3.
