The Brewton Sanitation Department has had several complaints about the trash pickup being delayed across the City. True, the driver is behind, but there are a few things to keep in mind for a smoother operation.

First, if you have yard work done and the debris is excessive, the contractor is required to haul it to the landfill themselves and you should make sure they are going to do so. Anything you wouldn’t leave if you did it yourself is excessive.

Second, we have had reports of single items laid out, such as a Tide box, garden hose or shopping bag. Other examples would be empty containers which held liquid detergent, bleach, etc. It is not prudent to use the bucket on these items, so these single items are best put into your blue garbage can for Allied Waste to pickup.
