Byrne to stop in Brewton for breakfast Friday
As the race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination comes down to the wire, one candidate will visit Escambia County Friday for a campaign stop.
Bradley Byrne, former chief of the state’s community college system, will be in Brewton at 9 a.m. Friday at David’s Catfish. David’s will provide a complimentary breakfast.
Byrne’s “Moving Alabama Forward” bus tour is on a 12-day tour of the state ahead of Tuesday’s primary runoff.
Byrne face off on the ballot against Tuscaloosa physician Robert Bentley, who eked out a second-place finish in the primary against Tim James. James paid for a recount but still came in third.
Also on Tuesday’s primary runoff ballot is the Escambia County District 4 Democratic school board runoff. Stephanie Agerton and Bo Brantley were the top vote-getters in that race.
