After announcing last week of two new radio broadcasters and a new radio affiliate for the 2010 T.R. Miller football season, the Tiger will now have a new sideline reporter.

Michael English has joined the radio booth for the Tigers for the upcoming season.

“We are happy today to announce our third person of our broadcast team this year with Michael English,” T.R. Miller Tiger football coach Jamie Riggs said in a recent interview with Tiger Website www.millerfootball.com. “He will be our sideline reporter for us this year. Michael is a former T.R. Miller player that played back in the early 90s for us as quarterback and defensive back. He was also on the 1991 championship team.”

Riggs said English would bring some expertise to the broadcast team. Having been a T.R. Miller Tiger, he knows a lot about the game and will add some things to the broadcast and will also be able to give the fans some insight from the sideline and locker room before the game.

“He is full of enthusiasm and we are excited about having him join the team,” Riggs said. “He will join Bill Henderson as our play-by-play and David Jennings as our color analyst.”

English said he thinks the experience will be a good experience for him, Jennings, and Henderson.

“All three of us played football and David and I played at T.R. Miller and Bill played at Alabama,” English said. “There is a lot of football knowledge between us. David and I talked and we are glad coach Riggs gave us the chance to come back where we played and be part of that.

“We are able to give back something that was gave to us, which is a good thing. It is going to be fun.”

English also said there has been talk about starting former football players back involved in the program.

“We are trying to get Friday night football instead of being just a game, but an experience,” English said. “Not only for the kids, but for an adult that has a child out there playing or a kid that looks up wanting to be a Tiger one day. There is an experience there for all ages.”

English said he will be looking forward to the new experience and there are a lot in the works for the upcoming season.

“We are real pleased with what we have coming up,” English said. “The Website will have a lot of updates to keep you informed. Jump on there and see what we have to offer.”

In other T.R. Miller news, eighth grade Brewton Middle School student Tyler Reid has joined the video staff for the upcoming season.

Reid will work with computers and do video work for the Tigers along with weekly highlight videos and photography along with working the sideline video this year.
