Georgia-Pacific donated $25,000 this week to the 2010 Leadership Brewton class, which has been working on a project to renovate the Alco Park.

The donation adds to the $12,800 that the class had already raised for the project, Leadership Brewton class member Scott Hillman said.

The class plans to purchase new playground equipment and erect a gazebo in the park.

“Leadership Brewton gets people involved in the community, and that’s really what it’s all about,” Mayor Ted Jennings said. “We appreciate that and we appreciate GP.”
