Mr. John Hayden Allan, 79, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010. He was a native of Kimball, Tenn., and he moved to Brewton in 1965, where he retired from Citation Corporation. He was a past master and charter member of the Marion County Masonic Lodge 515, South Pittsburg, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Allan of Brewton; three children, Sandy (Billy) Townsend, Marcia (Eddie) Nowlin and Johnny (Marcia) Allan; six grandchildren, Holli (Jerry) Hawsey, Will (Melissa) Townsend, Jeri (James) Shaffer, Jeff Nowlin, Sara Allan, and Jessica Allan; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden and Anna Beth Hawsey, Caleb, Levi, Maggie and and Ben Shaffer, and Zac and Tyson Townsend; two sisters, Susie (Norman) Michael of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Marty (Tom) Owens of Jasper, Tenn. and a brother, Jerry (Adeline) Allan of Blythe, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Father Adrian Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
