“I was excited when Coach Jordan approached me about coming on board,” Blaney said. “I love the game, and the student-athletes we have here at Neal are like none other. The coaching staff also is just top notch and they all have truly accepted this ‘yankee.’”

Blaney said things have been going great so far for the 2010 team.

“Our team has so much heart and is hungry for the season to start,” he said. “We keep getting better and better every day. I hope to work towards improving our weight room and our weight program, which is already intense and hardcore but needs some additions.

Blaney said as a team, he wants to see them continue growing as one family.

“I want to see us every day at practice and on game night come out with pure intensity and hunger knowing this season is what we make of it,” Blaney said. “That fear is not a word in our vocabulary. That every day we will give our all in the classroom and on the field and that we will represent Neal High School to the highest. I want us, every day, to give it our all! Neal is an outstanding school with a wonderful student body.

“I know that the kids work extremely hard in the classroom along with on the field and in the weight room and I look forward to seeing what this year is going to be like for us.”
