The T.R. Miller “Tiger” Marching Band joined 14 other bands at the annual Daleville Invitational Marching Band Festival.
The festival is hosted by Daleville High School and this year marked their 25th anniversary.
The Tiger Band performed in class 3A before a panel of 7 judges. The band performed their show titled “Smash Hits” and received ratings at the end of the night.
The band scored 3 superior ratings from all three band judges, a superior rating from the drum major judge, a superior rating from the percussion judge, a superior rating from the majorette judge and a superior rating from the color guard judge. A superior is the highest score a band can receive.
One of the band judges was long time T.R. Miller band director Johnny Folsom. After the night’s bands were done performing he came and spoke to the T.R. Miller Band and praised their performance.
“It was great to see such a reaction from the crowd. The show definetaly got some people talking,” T.R. Miller band director Lance Gainous said. “One band director came and found me afterwards and shook my hand saying that his parents and kids wanted to do a show like that.”
