In their final B-team game of the season Monday night at home, the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team lost to Opp 14-6.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 3-2-1 overall with losses coming against Atmore and Opp and the lone tie against Opp in the first game of the season.

T.R. Miller totaled 168 yards of offense with 167 on the ground. The Tigers had 43 yards rushing in the first half and 124 in the second half.

Opp totaled 175 total yards with 164 rushing including 84 in the first half and 80 in the second half.

The Bobcats had 11 first downs to T.R. Miller’s eight.

In the game Monday night, the Opp Bobcats held the ball for all but 14.6 seconds in the first quarter as they went 68 yards on 13 plays to take on early 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

T.R. Miller evened the score at 6-6 with 6:06 left in the first half as they scored on four plays from four yards out on a Dominique Jackson rushing touchdown.

Jackson set the Tigers up with good field position after retuning the kick 60 yards.

Both teams would later turn the ball over on downs, as the game was tied 6-6 at halftime.

In the second half, T.R. Miller fumbled the opening kickoff but held the Bobcats on offense after Opp took over at the Tigers 19-yard line and failed to score on fourth down from the 2-yard line.

T.R. Miller would later start from their own 1-yard line and move the ball to Opp’s 31-yard line before turning the ball over on downs with 40 seconds left in the third quarter.

From there, Opp would go 10 plays and go on top 14-6 with 3:53 left in the game after a successful two-point conversion.

Needing a touchdown and conversion to tie the game, T.R. Miller drove the ball to Opp’s 1-yard line, but was held out of the end zone as Opp took over with 31.9 seconds left and ran the clock out for the win.

Jackson led T.R. Miller in the game rushing with 147 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown.

Brett Smith had 21 yards on six carries in the loss for the Tigers.
