TRM cross country sweeps race

Both the T.R. Miller boys and girls cross country teams swept a race Monday in Northview to take first place at the meet.
The Lady Tigers took first place out of five teams as they defeated second place Jay by 42 points.
The boys took first out of six teams over second place Milton by three points.
For the Lady Tigers, Karisa Nelson finished first overall and for the Lady Tigers with a time of 18:25. Katie Nelson placed second with a time of 21:06 and Shelby Youngblood placed fourth with a time of 22:17.
Amber Nelson placed fifth for the Lady Tigers as she ran a time of 22:17 followed by Katie Baggett in 12th with a time of 23:56, Emmy Granade with a time of 25:40, Taylor Guthrie with a time of 27:41, Ashley Daugherty with a time of 28:22, Hannah Blair (30:46), Asia Stallworth (33:09), Janae Barton (33:11) and Ryan Garmson with a time of 36:31.
For the boys, Christian Carlson led T.R. Miller with a fourth place finish and a time of 18:19.
Andrew Pollitte placed seventh with a time of 19:37 and Rob Stokes placed ninth with a time of 19:58.
Logan Lowery placed 11th overall with a time of 20:14 and Grant Youngblood placed 16th with a time of 21:02.
Carter Frezell place 23rd with a time of 22:14 and was followed by Dangelo Thomas (23:47), Chris Johnson (23:56), Ramon Castro (24:48) and Dashon Stallworth with a time of 25:12.
Both teams will be back in action Saturday, as they travel to Auburn for an 8 a.m. race time at the Tiger Invitational.
