East Brewton Police Chief Kenny Brazil said he witnessed an altercation between Browder and a male occupant of a vehicle in the BankTrust parking lot in East Brewton.
“I witnessed the altercation between the two and went into the situation to stop the incident,” Brazil said. “It was apparent there was a problem and she was placed under arrest.”
Brewton Police said in a press release that the incident began at a residence on Liles Boulevard where Browder was visiting.
“Officers responded to a call regarding vandalism at 755 Liles Blvd.,” according to the release. “Jimmy Jerome Moore was at the residence assisting a friend with his vehicle. Browder was also at the residence.”
Browder reportedly assaulted Moore and forced herself into the vehicle according to information in the release.
Browder is said to have told the victim to drive to the East Brewton branch of BankTrust where he was to withdraw money.
“At that time, Moore pulled into the BankTrust parking lot and an altercation occurred between them,” the release said. “Chief Brazil witnessed the event and made an arrest at that time.”
Brewton Police continued their investigation into the incident and charged Browder with second degree kidnapping in response to the incident.
