Girl injured in four-wheeler wreck

A Brewton teenager was injured Sunday while riding a four-wheeler in the northern part of Escambia County, law enforcement officials said.

Alexis Cain, 14, of Brewton was injured while riding a four wheeler on London Road off U.S. 31, Alabama State Troopers said. She was LifeFlighted from the scene of the accident, but she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

“We received a call at 11:58 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, and responded to the scene of the accident,” said Chris Smith, who is a part of the EMS team. “Soon after we arrived, the Alabama troopers responded to work the scene of the accident and we were sent to prepare a landing zone for the helicopter that had been called by the ambulance workers.”

State troopers said Cain was driving the 2006 Kowasaki when the accident occurred. According to trooper reports, both Cain and her passenger were thrown from the four-wheeler, and neither had been wearing a helmet.

There was no report of any injuries to her passenger, troopers said.
