WSNMS basketball splits with Flomaton Tuesday

The W.S. Neal Middle School boys basketball team picked up their second win of the season Tuesday on the road at Flomaton while the Lady Eagles remained winless.
The boys defeated Flomaton 43-18 to improve to 2-3 while the girls lost 29-15 to drop to 0-5. Both the boys wins this season have come against Flomaton.
W.S. Neal is set to take on McCall Thursday on the road at 6 p.m.
Flomaton 29, W.S. Neal MS Lady Eagles 15
A 14-3 Flomaton advantage in the third quarter spelled doom for the Lady Eagles Tuesday at Flomaton as they defeated W.S. Neal 29-15.
Flomaton held a 5-4 advantage in the first quarter over W.S. Neal only to see the Lady Eagles hold a 5-3 advantage in the second quarter to take a 9-8 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 14-3 to take a 22-12 lead and added a 7-3 advantage in the fourth quarter to win by 14 points.
Tykeria Nolan led W.S. Neal with four points followed by Me’khia Williams, Kelana Floyd, Katelyn Millican, Kaeli Brown and Alexis Morrison having two points each.
Morgan Madden had one point in the loss for the Eagles.
W.S. Neal MS boys 43, Flomaton 18
The Eagles of W.S. Neal Middle School held Flomaton to only two points in the first quarter and one in the fourth quarter while posting double figures in all four quarters to get a 25-point win over Flomaton Tuesday at home.
W.S. Neal led 10-2 after the first quarter and 20-11 at halftime after a 10-9 advantage in the second quarter. In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 12-6 to extend their lead to 32-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 11-1 to get the win 43-18.
Ten Eagles scored in the win with D.J. Hodges leading the way with 10 points. Tray Taylor and Quantae Barksdale followed with six points each and Dakota Graves added five points in the win.
TyAnthony Alexander and Lane Chavers followed with four points each while Malcolm Hawthorne, Andre Womack, TyShawn Davis and Rob Jones all had two points each.
Both the W.S. Neal Middle School boys and girls teams will have the week of Thanksgiving off but will return to action Tuesday, Nov. 30 at home against Brewton Middle School.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. with the girls playing followed by the boys game.
