TRM Lady Tigers lose two games, now 1-2

In their second game of the season and second game of the Choctawhatchee basketball tournament Tuesday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers lost to a familiar foe in the tournament, Pensacola, 72-26.
The loss dropped T.R. Miller to 1-1 this season.
T.R. Miller trailed 24-7 after the first quarter and trailed 43-17 at the half. In the second half, Pensacola came out in the third quarter and posted a 21-6 advantage in the quarter to hold a 64-23 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, Pensacola outscored the Lady Tigers 8-3 to get the 46-point win.
Brittany Rush led T.R. Miller with nine points in the loss and Adrian Gibbs added six. Leah Brundidge had four points and Courtney Jones had three. Diamond Middleton and Sha Kiser both had two points in the loss.
Last year, T.R. Miller lost to Pensacola High School 77-57 in this same tournament.
With the loss Tuesday night, T.R. Miller’s 11 total losses the past three seasons, (five in 2007-2008, two in 2008-2009, three in 2009-2010, and one this season) four of them have come at the hands of Pensacola. Also of the 11, seven have come from teams outside of Alabama (Pensacola-2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 and this year, Washington-2007-08, Pine Forest-2007-08, Bearden-Tennessee (2008-09) while four have come to teams in Alabama (UMS-Wright-2007-08, Deshler-2007-08, Thomasville-2009-10, Madison Academy2009-10).

Ft. Walton 35, TRM 15
After winning their first game of the season and the first game at the Choctawhatchee tournament, the Lady Tigers dropped their second straight game Wednesday to lose to Fort Walton 36-15.
The loss dropped the Lady Tigers to 1-2 overall this season.
Against Fort Walton Wednesday, the Lady Tigers had trouble scoring points.
The Lady Tigers managed only 15 points with four players scoring in the game.
T.R. Miller trailed 8-2 after the first quarter of play and 14-4 at halftime after being outscored 6-2 in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers were outscored by 10 points, 14-4, to go into the fourth and final quarter down 20 points, 28-8.
In the fourth, Fort Walton edged out the Lady Tigers 8-7 to post the 21-point win.
Leah Brundidge led T.R. Miller with seven points and was followed by Courtney Jones with four points, Sha Kiser with three points and Adrian Gibbs with one.
T.R. Miller will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Atmore to take on the Escambia County Blue Devils.
