Shelton Otha Howington

Mr. Shelton Otha Howington, 68, of Hart Farm Road died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 in a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Range and a life long resident of Brewton. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of Alabama Cattleman Association, Masonic Lodge, a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and a retired railroad dispatcher from CSX with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Hart Howington and a sister, Doris Booker.

He is survived by four sisters, Ann Balkcom of Brewton, Judy Baggett of Monroeville, Betty Burch of Flomaton, and Jackie Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, James Howington of Brewton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jessie Lough officiating. Interment followed in Flomaton Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
