Escambia County has received $130,285 from the state to continue its efforts with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs on Monday announced grants totaling $3.05 million to combat illegal drugs and drug-related violent crime in Alabama.
The funding will support 17 multi-jurisdictional drug and violent crime task forces across the state.
The task forces conduct undercover operations to arrest and prosecute drug offenders, find and dismantle dangerous methamphetamine laboratories and assist with other violent crime investigations.
The county commissions and municipal governments receiving the grants act as fiscal agents for the task forces.
