TRM splits with Bayside Academy

There was good and bad Tuesday night at Bayside Academy for the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and varsity Tigers.
The good was the Lady Tigers picked up a 48-38 win to improved their winning streak while the bad was the varsity Tigers losing 54-29 to the Admirals for their fifth straight loss.
The win for the Lady Tigers improved them to 16-4 overall and allowed them to remain perfect in the area with a 7-0 record.
The varsity Tigers dropped to 5-12 overall and to 1-6 in area play.
T.R. Miller will play at Clarke County Saturday in a postponed game. The Tigers will play at home Monday against Andalusia in a 4:30 p.m. game before ending their regular season Friday on the road at Hillcrest at 5 p.m.

TRM Lady Tigers 48, Bayside Academy 38
In another close battle with Bayside Academy, T.R. Miller defeated Bayside Academy by 10 points to get their 16th win of the season.
The Lady Tigers trailed Bayside by two in the first quarter as the Lady Admirals led 7-5 after one quarter of play.
In the second, T.R. Miller took a 22-17 halftime lead as they edged out Bayside 17-10 in the quarter to grab a five-point lead.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller once again outscored Bayside Academy 17-10 to increase their lead by 12 points to 39-27 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Bayside ended the game on an 11-9 run, but T.R. Miller hung on for the 10-point win.
The Lady Tigers shot 4-for-11 from the free throw line while Bayside Academy was 4-for-8.
Leah Brundidge led T.R. Miller with 19 points and Adrian Gibbs had 11 points.
Sha Kiser added 10 points and Brittany Rush and Courtney Jones had four each.
The Lady Tigers had six 3-pointers in the win.

Bayside Academy 54, TRM varsity 29
The T.R. Miller varsity Tigers found the offensive points hard to come by Tuesday night at Bayside Academy as they lost by 25 points.
The Tigers of T.R. Miller had only four points in the first quarter and 14 at the half as Bayside led 13-4 after one quarter of play and 30-14 at the half following a 17-10 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller was outscored 16-14 as the Admirals increased their lead by two points, 46-28, heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, the offensive struggles for the Tigers continued as the netted only one point to Bayside’s eight to take the loss 54-29.
T.R. Miller shot 14-for-28 from the free throw line in the loss while Bayside was 9-for-12.
Caleb Dickey had 12 points for T.R. Miller in the loss and Darrion Salter had five. Antonio Payne and Caleb Hubbard had four points each and Kameron Winn added three points. Jaquan Dewberry had one point in the loss for the Tigers.
