JDCC softball to begin season Thursday

The 2011 Jefferson Davis Community College softball team will start their season Thursday, Feb. 3.
The Friday game will be at home, as the Warhawks will take on Central Alabama Community College in Brewton for a 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. doubleheader.
The 2011 Lady Warhawk softball schedule shows 30 games with the majority of them being doubleheaders.
JDCC will have 13 away games and 17 home games.
The JDCC roster this spring shows 17 players with eight sophomores and nine freshmen. Of the 18 players, 10 are from Alabama and seven are from Florida.
JDCC went 23-31 overall last season and 7-13 in conference play.
The Warhawks are under the leadership of head coach Misti Nims with Ed Johnson serving as assistant coach.
