Lady Tigers claim win at Hillcrest Friday

In their regular season finale Friday night at Hillcrest, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger basketball team was the lone Tiger team to pull out a win.
The Lady Tigers won 57-29 while the B-team Tigers lost 40-33 and the varsity Tigers lost 54-41.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their record to 18-5 while the B-team ended their season with a 4-9 record.
The varsity Tigers ended their regular season with a 5-15 record.
T.R. Miller’s varsity Tigers were set to play in the area tournament Tuesday night at Bayside Academy in Daphne.
The Tigers played Excel. With a win Tuesday, T.R. Miller will advance to play Friday night against Bayside Academy at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Thursday night at home in Brewton in their area tournament as they will play Washington County at 6:30 p.m.

Hillcrest 40, TRM B-team 33
In their final game of the season, the T.R. Miller B-team Tigers dropped a seven-point loss at Hillcrest 40-33.
The Jaguars held a 9-7 advantage over the Tigers in the first quarter and increased their lead by one point at the half, 17-14, after outscoring the Tigers 8-7 in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Hillcrest held an 11-9 advantage to take a 33-28 lead into the final quarter of play.
In the fourth, Hillcrest once again outscored the Tigers by two points, 12-10, to get the 40-33 win.
Shawn Tolbert led T.R. Miller with nine points followed by Kieon Smith and Dominique Jackson with eight points each. Aaron Yuhasz added six points and Caden Lodge had two points.

TRM Lady Tigers 57, Hillcrest 29
A big first quarter and first half for the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers allowed them to cruise to a 28-point over the Lady Jaguars of Hillcrest Friday night.
T.R. Miller opened the game on a 19-5 run in the first quarter and outscored Hillcrest 22-10 in the second to claim a 41-15 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Hillcrest cut the lead by four points to a 49-27, 22-point lead as they outscored T.R. Miller 12-8 in the quarter.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller held Hillcrest to two points while getting eight of their own to get the win.
Leah Brundidge led T.R. Miller with 15 points and Courtney Jones followed with 14. Sha Kiser rounded out the double-digit scorers for T.R. Miller with 13 points. Adrian Gibbs had nine points followed by Brittany Rush and Diamond Middleton with two each. Taylor Guthrie and LaTeysia Montgomery had one point each.

Hillcrest 54, TRM varsity 41
After falling to the No. 2 team in class 4A (Andalusia) earlier in the week, the varsity Tigers lost to the No. 7 Hillcrest Jaguars 54-41 Friday night.
Hillcrest used an early first quarter and first half lead to get the 13-point win.
Hillcrest led 15-5 after the first quarter and 38-12 at the half following a 23-7 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third, the Tigers cut the lead by three points with a 16-13 advantage to trail 51-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller outscored the Jaguars 13-3 but took the loss by 13 points.
