JDCC baseball now 2-6-1

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team saw their record drop to 2-6-1 in their recent stretch of three games.
JDCC lost 17-11 to Pensacola State before losing a doubleheader at East Central Community College 3-2 and 13-1.
JDCC will take on Lawson State at home Sunday in a rescheduled game from earlier in the season.
Game time is set for noon and 2 p.m. at Warhawk Field in Brewton.

PSC 17, JDCC 11
The Warhawks committed six errors in a six-run loss to Pensacola State College to lose 17-11.
The Warhawks of JDCC led 4-1 after the second inning only to see PSC score six runs in the third inning to take a 7-4 lead after the third inning.
PSC scored three runs in the fourth while JDCC scored one as JDCC led 10-5. With PSC holding a 12-5 lead after the sixth inning, the Warhawks played six runs in the seventh to cut the lead to 12-11.
PSC would later add four runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to get the win.
Lee Hunter led JDCC at the plate going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a double.
Nathan Edwards was also 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Brandon Blackwelder was 3-for-4.
Jordan Creel was 1-for-2 and Bill Hamrick was 1-for-3. Robbie Jernigan and Maurice Leverett had one RBI each.
Cole Vickery took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks as he went 1 2/3 innings allowing four runs, three earned, on no hits and struck out one.

Game one: ECCC 3, JDCC 2
In the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, JDCC lost 3-2 to East Central Community College.
JDCC led 2-1 after the top of third inning only to see ECCC score two in the seventh and get the win.
Blackwelder was 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI in the loss for JDCC while Creel was 1-for-2. Bennie Britton was 1-for-3 in the loss.
Vickery took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks as he went 1/3 of an inning and allowed two runs, one earned, on no hits, while walking one.

Game two: ECCC 13, JDCC 1
The Warhawks of JDCC fell to a nine-run fourth inning for ECCC to lose by 12 points, 13-1.
ECCC led 4-1 after the top of the fourth inning but added nine runs in the bottom of the inning to get the win.
Bickmeyer was 2-for-2 and Hamrick was 1-for-2 in the loss for JDCC. Xavier Cunningham was 1-for-1 in the loss.
Tyler Moore took the loss on the mound for the JDCC going three innings and allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits, walked two and struck out one.
