JDCC softball splits again, now 2-2

After splitting their first games of the season, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team split their second game as well.
JDCC split with Meridian Community College Tuesday on the road winning game one 4-0 and losing game two 7-6.
With the split, the Lady Warhawks saw their record go to 2-2 overall.
The Lady Warhawks were set to play at Jones County Wednesday afternoon.
JDCC will play at home Thursday at noon and 2 p.m. against PJC in a rescheduled game from earlier in the season.

Game one: JDCC 4, Meridian 0
Brittany Linton pitched a three-hit shutout for the Lady Warhawks as JDCC won 4-0.
Linton went the complete game allowing three hits, no runs, walked one and struck out six.
JDCC scored three runs in the second inning and one in the fifth to get the win.
Brittany McCastle was 2-for-4 at the plate in the win and Danielle McCastle was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a double.
Sarah Dunaway was 1-for-3 and Elise Schanley was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Nataline Moseley had one RBI in the win.

Game two: Meridian 7, JDCC 6
Holding a 6-5 lead after the top of the seventh inning, Meridian plated two runs in the bottom of the inning to edge out the Lady Warhawks by one run, 7-6.
Meridian held a 3-0 lead after the first inning before JDCC plated one in the third.
Meridian added two runs in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead before JDCC scored five in the top of the seventh to claim a 6-5 lead.
Jennifer Morris took the loss on the mound as she went seven innings allowing seven runs, four earned, on four hits, walked six and struck out three.
Danielle McCastle was 1-for-4 with three RBIs.
Morris was also 1-for-4 along with Schanley who had one RBI. Dunaway was 1-for-2 and Rebeccah Wright was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Brittany McCastle was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Mallori Armstrong was 1-for-3. Amber Steadham was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
