JDCC baseball evens record

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team evened their record at 7-7-1 with a recent two-game win streak.
The Warhawks defeated Pensacola State College Tuesday 6-5 to improve to 6-7-1 and followed the win with a 6-3 win over Marion Military Wednesday.
The Warhawks will play at Snead State Saturday and at Gadsden State Sunday before returning home Tuesday for a nine inning game at 2 p.m. against Northwest Florida State.

JDCC 6, PSC 5
Trailing 5-4 after seven innings, JDCC scored one run each in the eighth and ninth innings to get a 6-5 win over Pensacola State.
Bill Hamrick and Dustin Bickmeyer led the Warhawks in the win at the plate as Hamrick was 3-for-4 with one RBI and Bickmeyer was 1-for-4 with three RBIs and a double.
Bennie Britton was 1-for-4 with one RBI along with Lee Hunter.
Mark Bass was 1-for-4 and Brandon Blackwelder was 1-for-5 along with Ryne Drummonds.
Corey Thompson earned the win on the mound going 5 1/3 innings allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits, walked five and struck out four.
Drummonds earned the save going one inning and walking one and striking out two.

JDCC 6, MMI 3
JDCC earned their second straight win Wednesday with a 6-3 win over Marion Military.
Bass was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Hamrick was 2-for-4 with the other Warhawk RBI.
Xavier Cunningham was 1-for-5 and Blackwelder was 2-for-5. Jordan Creel was 1-for-4 and Britton was 3-for-5.
Tyler Walker was 1-for-3 and Maurice Leverett was 3-for-5.
Jaris Whitaker, Joey Hedden, Nathan Edwards, Jeremy Barnes and Drummonds all pitched in the Warhawk win going a combined nine innings and allowing, three runs, two earned, on five hits, walking one and striking out seven.
