WSNMS softball starts 2011 with win

The W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagle softball used a big third inning rally Thursday to get a 6-4 win over Escambia County Middle School for their first win to start the 2011 season.
After giving up three runs in the first inning and one in the second to Atmore, W.S. Neal scored six runs in the third inning to turn a four-run deficit into a two-run lead.
Neither team would score the remainder of the game as the Lady Eagles hung on for the win.
Brittany Lucas earned the win on the mound for the Lady Eagles. Lucas went five innings allowing four runs, struck out two, and hit one.
Emily Ann Cooper was 2-for-3 with one run scored and Kelana Floyd was 1-for-3 with a double.
Madison Winchester was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.
Maddie Bush, Karissa Johnson, and Shanika Tinker also scored runs for the Lady Eagles in the win.
