JDCC basketball advances in regional tourney, play today at 3 p.m.

In their first game at the Alabama Community College Conference Regional basketball tournament in Tuscaloosa Thursday, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team edged out Marion Military 51-49.
The win improved JDCC to 14-12.
JDCC was set to play today (Thursday) at 3 p.m. against Gadsden State. With a win Thursday, JDCC would play at 5:30 p.m. Friday against Alabama Southern or Bevill State.

JDCC trailed by eight points, 24-16, after the first half but outscored Marion by 10 in the second half, 35-25, to get the win by two.
Braylon Lazare led JDCC with 15 points in the Warhawk win and Kahlee Taylor followed with 12 points.
Brandon Scott had eight points and Turmonta Ragland added six.
Larel Jackson had four points followed by Sherman Presswood with three, Daryl Duncan with two and Gabriel Rice with one.
Scott led with three steals and Lazare had one block. Duncan and Ragland had one assist each.
Ragland led with six total rebounds and five defensive and Lazare had two offensive.
