The Town of Repton has reportedly filed suit against Conecuh County to stop the permitting process for the Conecuh Woods Landfill.

The suit follows Gov. Robert Bentley’s executive order that calls for a moratorium on new large landfills in the state.

Both developers of the landfill and opponents agreed that the moratorium would not stop the application process for the 5,100-acre landfill, which will include a public hearing set for 9 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Reid State Technical College in Evergreen.
