TRM tennis splits with Milton Thursday

In their first match of the 2011 season at home against Milton Thursday, the T.R. Miller boys and girls team split.
The boys defeated Milton 14-7 while the girls lost 9-12.
In singles play, T.R. Miller won 8-4, winning four matches and losing two and claimed a 6-3 win in the doubles, losing in the No. 3 doubles play.
For the girls, the Lady Tigers were tied with Milton 6-6 after singles play, but lost two matches in doubles to lose 3-6.
Boys:
In No. 1 singles, Nick Dorso won 7-5 while Michael Kast lost in No. 2 singles 2-6.
In No. 3 singles, Taylor Terry won 6-3 while Patrick Weaver lost in the No. 4 slot 6-7.
In singles No. 5 and 6, William Jones won 6-3 and Malik Leach won 7-5.
In No. 1 doubles, Dorso and Kast won 6-0 and Terry and Jones won 6-1 in No. 2.
In the No. 3 doubles, Ed Hines and Austin Morris lost 2-6.
Girls:
In No. 1 girls for T.R. Miller, Laferria Hetherington lost 0-6 while Elizabeth Nelson won 6-0 in No. 2.
In No. 3, Deaundra Hetherington won 6-2 while Laura Burkett lost in No. 4 2-6.
Abbi Carlson won the No. 5 singles match 6-1 while Elizabeth Althauser lost No. 6, 4-6.
In doubles, the Hetherington duo lost 2-6 in No. 1 play while Nelson and Carlson lost in No. 2, 5-7.
In No. 3 doubles, Allie Adams and Rebekah Quick won 6-2.
