WSN softball beats Atmore

Struggles continued for the Escambia County Lady Blue Devils as they dropped to 1-5 on the season after losing 12-2 to the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles on Tuesday afternoon in Poarch.
The match up was a scoreless battle for the first two innings as the Lady Blue Devils and Lady Eagles could only manage to runners each onto the base path.
In the top of the third, the Lady Eagles finally put runs on the scoreboard as Haley Lum, Kena Ellison and Autumn Hinote all made it across home plate.
After falling behind 3-0, the Lady Blue Devils were still unable to get runs on the board despite Tristen Boothe reaching base on a walk.
W.S. Neal extended their lead to six runs in the top of the fourth as Lum scored her second run of the game and Paige Grantham and Lauren Boatwright both scored their first runs.
The Lady Eagles followed up in the fifth inning by putting four runs on the scoreboard with Heather Elliott, Lum, Ellison and Boatwright scoring to put W.S. Neal ahead 10-0.
The Lady Blue Devils responded in the bottom of the fifth with two runs of their own as Megan Rackard and Tieraa Dale crossed the plate to pull Escambia County within eight runs.
For W.S. Neal, Autumn Hinote was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and one run scored. Anna Nelson was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Haley Lum was 2-for-2 with three runs scored.
Lauren Boatwright was 1-for-3 with three runs scored.
Hadaway earned the win going seven innings striking out 13, three walks, hit two, and surrendered one hit and one earned run.
