TRM baseball cruises to wins over Atmore Friday at home

For the fifth time this season out of six games, the T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team defeated the Escambia County Blue Devils of Atmore Friday at home in a doubleheader.
The Tigers defeated Atmore 16-2 in game one and 11-1 in game two to run their record to 6-0 this season.
T.R. Miller will take on Flomaton Tuesday in Brewton (the game was scheduled to be in Flomaton, but will now be in Brewton after the change of venue last week between the two teams). In other Tiger baseball game, the JV team defeated Excel 7-4 Thursday for their first game of the season in their first game.
The JV Tigers were set to play Jackson Monday in Brewton in a doubleheader.

Game one: TRM 16, Atmore 2
An 11-run second inning for T.R. Miller proved to be the difference in the game Friday afternoon in game one as T.R. Miller cruised to a 16-2 win in five innings.
Atmore scored first in the first inning to lead 1-0, but T.R. Miller claimed a 4-1 lead after one inning of play thanks to a two-run homerun by Trent Robinson.
After T.R. Miller’s 11-run second inning, the Blue Devils scored their final run of the game in the third inning with T.R. Miller adding a late run in the fourth to take the 14-run win.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, Ryan Hunt was 1-for-3 with a triple and one RBI and Conner Denton was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kevin Davis was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Caleb McAnally was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
Robinson was 1-for-2 with a two-run homerun and Kameron Winn was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Caden Lodge had one RBI for T.R. Miller and Wil Riggs was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Shawn Odom earned the win on the mound for T.R. Miller going two innings allowing one run, none earned, one hit, walked two and struck out and hit one.
Denton went the next two innings allowing two hits, one run, one walk, and striking out five. Hunt went the final inning striking out one.

Game two: TRM 11, Atmore 1
In game two, T.R. Miller remained undefeated with an 11-1 win in five innings.
The Tigers scored three in the first and five in the third to build an early 8-0 lead. After an Escambia County run in the fourth inning that cut the lead to 8-1, the Tigers scored one of their own in the fourth to take a 9-1 lead and two in the fifth that ended the game with a 10-run win.
Jacob Fillmore got the start and the win on the mound for the Tigers. Fillmore went four innings and allowed four hits, one run, none earned, and struck out eight.

At the plate for T.R. Miller, Denton was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Kevin Davis was 1-for-2 with a double and RBI and Fillmore was 1-for-3.
Caleb Dickey was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Kyle Davis was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Collin Graves was 1-for-1 with a triple.
