JDCC softball now 12-12 overall

The Jefferson Davis Community College softball has improved their record to 12-12 overall with three wins in their last four games.
The Lady Warhawks lost a doubleheader at Central Alabama 11-0 and 5-3.
After losing to Parkland College 9-6, the Warhawks defeated Marshalltown 4-1and swept John Wood 11-0 and 5-2.
JDCC was set to play Central Alabama Wednesday at home.

CACC 11, JDCC 0
The Lady Warhawks of JDCC were no-hit and shutout in a game one loss to Central Alabama 11-0.
JDCC trailed 3-0 after the third inning, but CACC scored eight runs in the fourth to get the win.
Brittany Linton took the loss on the mound for JDCC pitching three innings allowing seven hits, eight runs, five earned, walked five and struck out three.

CACC 5, JDCC 3
In game two against Central Alabama, JDCC gave up three runs in the fourth inning to lose by two and fall to 9-11.
The Lady Warhawks led 3-2 after the first inning, but was held scoreless the rest of the game while CACC plated three in the fourth to get the win.
Jessica Myrick took the loss on the mound for the Lady Warhawks going four innings and allowing seven hits, five runs, two earned, one walk and struck out one.
Sarah Dunaway was 1-for-3 for JDCC with a three-run homerun in the first inning.
Rebecca Wright was 1-for-3 and Brittany McCastle was 1-for-3.
Amber Steadham was 2-for-3 and a Nataline Moseley was 1-for-3.

JDCC 4, Marshalltown 1
The Lady Warhawks improved to 10-11 overall with a 4-1 win over Marshalltown (Iowa).
The Lady Warhawks trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but scored four runs in the fifth inning to get the win by three.
Linton earned the win on the mound pitching seven innings allowing three hits, one run, none earned, walked two and struck out 12.
Dunaway was 2-for-3 with one RBI and a homerun. Elise Schanley was 1-for-2 with a double.
Wright was 1-for-3 and Ruschel was 2-for-3. Steadham was 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBIs and Danielle McCastle was 1-for-2 with a double.

Parkland 9, JDCC 6
Parkland (Illinois) scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 6-6 tie and defeat JDCC 9-6.
The Lady Warhawks led 4-0 after the first inning, but Parkland took a 5-4 lead in the second inning with five runs of their own.
After two JDCC runs in the third, Parkland tied the game at 6-6 with one in the fourth.
Myrick took the loss on the mound going 1 2/3 innings allowing five hits, five runs, one earned, walked none and struck out one.
Dunaway was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Schanley was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Wright was 1-for-1 and Ruschel was 1-for-3. Brittany McCastle was 2-for-4 and Steadham was 1-for-4. Moseley was 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI and Danielle McCastle was 3-for-3 with a homerun and one RBI.

JDCC 11, John Wood (Illinois) 0
In a doubleheader with John Wood Community College, JDCC took game one 11-0 to improve their record to 11-12.
JDCC scored nine runs in the second inning and added two more in the fourth to get the win.
Linton earned the win on the mound for JDCC pitching five innings allowing two hits, no runs, walked three and struck out nine.
JDCC got a double each from Ruschel and Wright in the win as Wright went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Ruschel went 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Dunaway had one RBI in the win and Elise Schanley was 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Steadham was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Danielle McCastle was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jennifer Morris was 1-for-2 with one RBI for the Lady Warhawks in the win.

JDCC 5, John Wood 2
In the second game of the doubleheader against John Wood, JDCC won 5-2 to even their record at 12-12.
JDCC scored four runs in the third inning and one in the fifth while holding John Wood to one in the fourth and fifth innings.
Loren McVicker earned the win on the mound for the Lady Warhawks. McVicker went seven innings allowing three hits, two runs, one earned, walked two and struck out seven.
Schanley and Steadham had a double each for JDCC with Schanley going 3-for-4 with one RBI and Steadham going 3-for-4.
Ruschel was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Kayla Hayes was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Mallori Armstrong was 1-for-1 and Ashley Killan was 1-for-2. Danielle McCastle was 1-for-3 in the win.
