WSN baseball pounds Hillcrest

The W.S. Neal Eagle baseball team outscored the Hillcrest Jaguars 43-5 in a three-game set Thursday and Friday.
The Eagles won 16-2 in game one in Evergreen Thursday before claiming a 17-1 win in game two Friday in East Brewton. In the third game of the series Friday, W.S. Neal ended with a 10-0 win.
The wins improved the Eagles to 10-3 overall and to 6-0 in area play.
Game one: WSN 16, Hillcrest 2
Keith Bradley and Damion Williams homered for the Eagles in a game one rout of Hillcrest Thursday in Evergreen 16-2.
W.S. Neal led 8-1 after the fourth inning before scoring eight runs in the fifth to take a 16-1 lead. Hillcrest had one run in the fifth, but the Eagles won by 14.
Hunter Mullins was 1-for-3 with a RBI triple. Williams was 2-for-4 with a homerun and Logan Williamson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Bradley was 2-for-2 with a homerun and Dylan Godwin was 1-for-2.
Cam Blackman was 1-for-2 and Tyler Sawyer, Brian Settle, and Christian Purvis all had one RBI each.
Godwin earned the win on the mound pitching four innings allowing one earned runs, walked three, struck out five and allowed two hits.
Gary McGraw pitched one inning allowing one hit and striking out three.
Game two: WSN 17, Hillcrest 1
In the first game Friday in East Brewton, W.S. Neal rolled to a 17-1 win.
Hillcrest’s lone run came in the first inning while W.S. Neal scored six in the first, 10 in the second, and one in the third.
Bradley pitched and earned the win going three innings allowing one hit, one earned run and struck out five.
McGraw pitched two innings.
Mullins had one RBI in the win and Bradley was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.
Williams was 1-for-2 and Sawyer was 1-for-1 with three RBIs. Godwin was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Blackman was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Williams and Settle had one RBI each.
Game three: WSN 10, Hillcrest 0
Three W.S. Neal pitchers combined for a five inning one-hit shutout to get a 10-0 win over the Jaguars.
Settle, Mullins, and Blackman allowed one Hillcrest hit while striking out 12 in the win.
W.S. Neal scored one run in the first, eight in the second, and one in the third.
Monterius Culliver was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Jeremy Myers was 1-for-3.
Damion Williams was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Mullins was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Settle was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Logan Williamson was 1-for-2 with a double and RBI.
Christian Purvis was 1-for-2 with one RBI along with Bradley Brown.
