TRM baseball beats Jay

After their first loss of the season last week against Flomaton, the T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team picked up an 8-6 win over Jay Tuesday on the road.
The Tigers improved their overall record to 7-1 with the win.
Leading 3-0 after the top of the second, T.R. Miller gave up one run in the bottom of the inning and three in the third to the Royals to find themselves trailing 4-3.
After a Jay run in the fourth to give the Royals a 5-3 lead, T.R. Miller used a four-run fifth inning to rally and claim a 7-5 lead.
T.R. Miller would add one run in the sixth and hold Jay to one in the seventh to get the two-run win.
Conner Denton was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI and Jacob Fillmore was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Kevin Davis was 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI and Wil Riggs was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Jacob Fillmore earned the win on the mound in relief of starter Shawn Odom. Odom went 2 1/3 innings allowing four runs, two earned, five hits, walked one and struck out two. Fillmore went 2 2/3 innings allowing one earned run, one hits, walked none and struck out one.
Kevin Davis pitched two innings allowing one run, none earned, no hits, walked two and struck out four.
