TRM varsity softball beat Blacksher; Pink game set for Friday

In a Tuesday afternoon home game for the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers against J.U. Blacksher, the Lady Tigers cruised to an 11-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs. With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 6-3.
In JV action, the Lady Tigers lost 11-5 to drop their record to 8-4
Friday, the Lady Tigers will have their annual Pink game against Thomasville. All fans are encouraged to wear Pink and help support the T.R. Miller Relay for Life team.
The team and coaches will wear specially made Pink jerseys for this game. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Brewton at the YMCA Sports Park.

TRM varsity 11, JUB 1
The Lady Tigers pounded out 14 hits and scored 11 runs while holding J.U. Blacksher to only three hits and one run to take an 11-1, mercy rule win in five innings.
The Lady Tigers led 3-0 after the first inning and 8-1 after the third before scoring two in the fourth and one in the fifth to get the win by 10.
Miranda Smith earned the win on the mound for T.R. Miller. Smith pitched four innings allowing three hits, one earned run, walked none and struck out four.
Laurel Billy pitched one innings striking out one.
Several Lady Tigers led in the win at the plate. Leah Brundidge was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and an over-the-fence homerun.
Natalie Neal was 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI and Taylor Guthrie was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Takeysia McFugerson was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Lauren Wad was 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Audrey Hamric was 1-for-3 and Teralyn Moore got her first start for the Lady Tigers and went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Leigh Bostic was 1-for-3 along with Kristen Booker.

JUB 11, TRM JV 5
In JV action Tuesday, the Lady Tigers lost 11-5.
After leading 3-0 after the first inning, T.R. Miller was outscored 11-2 in the remaining innings to lose by six.
J.U. Blacksher cut the lead to 3-2 with two runs in the second inning, but the Lady Tigers added one in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead.
From there, the Lady Bulldogs would score three in the fourth inning and six in the fifth to take an 11-4 lead over the Lady Tigers. T.R. Miller would get one run back in the bottom of the fifth, but that would not be enough as they lost 11-5.
Moriah Brundidge got the start on the mound and the loss. Brundidge went 3 2/3 innings allowing five hits, five runs, one earned, walked eight, struck out and hit one.
Lizzy Pollitte pitched the final 1 1/3 allowing six hits, six runs, walked one and hit one and struck out two.
At the plate for the Lady Tigers, Abbi Roberts was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs. Erin Wade and Jessica Allan were both 1-for-3.
Krystal Bell was 2-for-3 and Ali Taylor was 1-for-1.
