EB Cal Ripken baseball begins

The 2011 East Brewton Cal Ripken baseball league season got started Monday. In games in East Brewton during the week, the East Brewton Phillies defeated the Giants 7-6 for the first win of the season.
On Thursday, Flomaton defeated the Giants 8-0 in 11-and 12-year-old action. In the second game Thursday, the Phillies picked up their second win of the season as they defeated Flomaton 9-1.
EB Phillies 7, Giants 6
In a seven-inning game Monday, the East Brewton Phillies defeated the Giants 7-6.
For the Phillies, Jeremy Sims, Joseph Booker and Matt Hutchins all pitched in the win.
Sims allowed two runs, two hits, two walks and struck out one while Booker walked four and struck out two.
Hutchins allowed four runs, one hit and struck out five.
At the plate for the Phillies, Booker was 2-for-4 with a double and Hutchins was 1-for-4.
Eddie Taylor was 1-for-3 with a triple and Logan Fore was 2-for-2.
On the mound for the Giants, Blake McGraw allowed six runs, eight hits, walked two and struck out eight. Steven Summerlin allowed one run, one hit, one walk and struck out one.
Derrick Barton was 1-for-3 and Hunter Revel and McGraw were both 1-for-2.
Flomaton 8, Giants 0
The Giants were held to only two hits while committing six errors in an 8-0 loss to Flomaton.
For the Giants, Summerlin allowed seven runs and hits on the mound, walked five and struck out six.
Barton allowed one run, walked six, and struck out three.
Summerlin was 1-for-2 with a double and McGraw was 1-for-2.
Hayden Hammond earned the win on the mound for Flomaton allowing no runs, one hit, walked one and struck out 14.
Brent Hollington was 2-for-4 with two doubles and Dylan Emmons was 2-for-2.
Hammond was 2-for-2 with a double and Dustin Reaves was 1-for-2. Riley Hammon was 1-for-1.
EB Phillies 9, Flomaton 1
Weston Riddle struck out 12 Flomaton players while allowing one run and two hits in a 9-1 win for the Phillies.
At the plate for the Phillies, Hutchins was 2-for-3 with a double and Riddle was 1-for-3 with a double.
Hayden Winchester was 1-for-2 along with Timothy Joyner. Patrick Lovelace was 1-for-2 with a double and Booker was 1-for-3 with a double.
Taylor was 1-for-3 with a double.
