In a Thursday tri-meet for the W.S. Neal Eagle track team at Pensacola Catholic, the Eagle teams came in second place.
The Lady Eagles finished in second place with 28 points. Catholic placed first with 154 and Escambia County of Alabama placed third with 13.
For the boys, Catholic led with 69 points while the Eagles took second with 57 and Escambia County took third with 49 points.
“I am proud of the progress our throwers have made over the past few weeks,” W.S. Neal head coach Rebecca Massie said. “Coach Hodge has been working diligently with them on their form. Basic conditioning drills have also helped them become stronger. Leighanne Gibson has especially made improvements, and I am looking forward to her continued success.”
Massie said other Eagles also did well in the meet.
Josiah Nettles broke his own school record in the 200-meter race in 23.47, also winning the event overall,” she said. “On the girls’ side, Jasmine Crook and Arianna Jones led the 100 and 200-meter races overall. The next two weeks will be huge for us as we compete at Baker, Northview, and Central.”
