Two Brewton residents face multiple drug charges stemming from the execution of a search warrant at a local motel Saturday.
Ashley Aldridge, 20, and Mark Golden, 23, were arrested after officers with the Brewton Police Department and the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at a room at the colonial Manor motel according to Lt. Bryan Davis with the Narcotics Division of the Brewton Police Department.
“Officers were conducting an investigation into the occupants of a room selling illegal narcotics,” Davis said. “Officers had been conducting surveillance on the room under the direction of Sgt. David Mathis, a patrol supervisor.”
Davis said the suspects were seen leaving the motel and officers were able to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle.
“Officers Deric Smith and Nicholas Stanley identified both of the suspects,” Davis said. “After obtaining a search warrant, the room at the motel was searched.”
Davis said a search of the motel room turned yp hydrocodone as well as drug paraphernalia items.
Golden and Aldridge were placed under arrest and were each charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two were taken into custody without incident and were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center to be booked on the charges. The pair remained jailed on $5,000 bond each as of Tuesday.
