TRM boys and girls track take first at home event Monday

In a home track meet Monday for the T.R. Miller Tigers, the boys and girls team claimed first place.
T.R. Miller’s boys took first with 129 points over second place Monroe County with 55 points, Hillcrest with 49 and Opp with 24.
The girls took first with 157 points beating Monroe County’s 27, Hillcrest’s 13 and Opp’s 10.
The Tigers took first place in nine of the 18 events while the girls took first in 16 of the 18 events.
For the Lady Tigers, T.R. Miller took first in the 4×800 relay with a time of 12:24. Taylor Guthrie claimed first in the 100/100 hurdles with a time of 17.3. Lateysia Montgomery took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.3 seconds.
Karisa Nelson placed first for T.R. Miller in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:11 and also took first in the 800-meter run (2:26) and the 3200-meter run (11:54).
The Lady Tigers placed first in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 53.1 seconds and Shelby Youngblood placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 67.7.
Amber Nelson ran the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 49.4 to claim first and the Lady Tigers took first in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:53.
Leah Brundidge led in the shot put with a throw of 29-6 and Brittany Rush led the high jump with a jump of 4-8. Guthrie placed first in the long jump with a jump of 15-8 and Brundidge also grabbed first in the javelin with a throw of 104-2. Madison Floyd won the pole vault event with a vault of 7-0 and Amber Nelson placed first in the triple jump with a jump of 34-1.
In the boys events, Anthony Herbert led T.R. Miller in the 100/110 hurdles with a time of 15.1 seconds. The T.R. Miller 4×100-meter relay team took first with a time of 43.7 and Christian Carlson placed first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:28.
The Tiger 4×400-meter relay team won with a time of 4:30.
Herbert led in the long jump with a jump of 20-1 and Ryland Dixon took the javelin event with a throw of 157. Madden McCall won the pole vault with a vault of 11-0 and Ivory Miller won the triple jump with a jump of 36-4. Bryant won the high jump with a jump of 5-10.
