TRM track competes at Mobile’s Challenge of Champions

The T.R. Miller track team took part in the Challenge of Champions track meet in Mobile Friday and Saturday.
The Tigers had athletes compete in the open meet Friday and some athletes that were invited to take part in the invite meet Saturday.
In the invite meet Saturday, Karisa Nelson placed second in the one-mile run with a time of 5:04.61.
Leah Brundidge placed eighth in the girls javelin with a throw of 102-7 and Ryland Dixon placed fourth in the boys javelin with a throw of 157-3 ½.
In the open meet, Brittany Rush and Lateysia Montgomery placed 27th and 28th in the 100-meter dash with times of 14.06 and 14.08 respectively.
Shelby Youngblood placed 18th in the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.73 and Amber Nelson placed 16th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:37.92. Hannah Blair placed 41st with a time of 2:57.61.
In the girls 1600-meter run, Katie Nelson placed 23rd with a time of 6:05.53 and was followed by Breann Huff with a time of 6:54.29 for 37th place.
Nelson also placed 14th in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:01.18.
In the girls 300-meter hurdles, Emily Granade placed second with a time of 48.95 and Amber Nelson placed 10th with a time of 51.11.
The Lady Tigers 4×400-meter relay team placed 10th overall with a time of 4:32.73.
In girls triple jump, Amber Nelson took first with a jump of 33-9 ½ and Lauren Bradley placed 13th with a jump of 29-8 ½.
Bradley also placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 79-11.
In the boys 100-meter dash, David Ikner ran a time of 12.17 for 34th place for the Tigers.
In the boys 400-meter dash, Parrish Fountain placed 61st with a time of 59.99.
Grant Youngblood and Rob Stokes placed 39th and 40th in the 800-meter run with times of 2:18.63 and 2:19.05 respectively.
In the 1600-meter run, Stokes placed 39th with a time of 5:15.70 and Christian Carlson placed 44th with a time of 5:18.37.
In the 3200-meter, Ryan Snowden placed 16th with a time of 10:48.41.
In the boys 110-meter hurdles, Anthony Herbert posted a second place finish with a time of 15.34 and also placed 17th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.73.
Horatio Matthews placed 40th with a time of 50.03.
The 4×400-meter relay team for the Tigers placed 18th with an overall time of 3:53.90.
In the boys high jump, Devonte Jones placed 10th with a jump of 5-6 and Madden McCall won the pole vault event with a vault of 13-0.
Spencer Waldrep placed 11th in the pole vault with a vault of 10-0.
In the triple jump, Herbert jumped 43-7 ½ to take fifth place. In the javelin, Nick Adams took 10th with a throw of 142-0 and Trevor Diercks placed 26th with a throw of 123-9.
