The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team picked up a “huge” area win over No. 4-ranked Excel at home Tuesday with a 10-2 win over the Lady Panthers.
The win over Excel improved the Lady Tigers to 12-4 overall and improved them to 6-1 in area play.
“This was a huge win for us,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “It put us back in the race for the regular season area championship. That was one of our pre-season goals and now we have a chance to fight for it.”
White said he got another solid pitching performance from his pitcher Miranda Smith and the Lady Tiger defense.
“Our defense committed zero errors,” White said. “The top, middle and bottom of our batting order all did a good job of getting on base and driving in runs. We had several big hits late that kind of put the game away for us.”
In a JV game, T.R. Miller lost to Excel 12-6 to fall to 9-8 overall.
