TRM track sweeps home meet Tuesday

It was total domination for both the T.R. Miller boys and girls track teams Tuesday at a home meet.
The Tigers’ boys and girls team each took first in the seven-team meet.
The boys took first with 212 points, 135 points more than second place Monroe County with 77 points.
Hillcrest placed third with 65 points followed by J.U. Blacksher with 55 points, Opp with 32, Escambia County with 20 and Florala with nine.
For the Lady Tigers, T.R. Miller racked up 225 points, 125 points more than second place J.U. Blacksher with 100 points. Opp had 52 points for third place and Monroe County had 32 points for fourth.
Hillcrest placed fifth with 17 points followed by Escambia County with 11 and Florala had no points.
The T.R. Miller boys placed first in nine of the 18 events while the Lady Tigers placed first in 11 events out of 18.
Anthony Herbert placed first for the Tigers in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11 seconds. Rob Stokes gave the Tigers a first place finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:14 and the Tigers’ 4×100-meter relay team placed first over Hillcrest with a time of 43.58.
Christian Carlson ran a time of 12:07 in the 3200-meter run for first and the Tigers placed first in the 4×400-meter relay over Hillcrest with a time of 3:52.
Logan Ingram won the discus with a throw of 117-2 and Ryland Dixon placed first in the javelin with a throw of 160-9.
Dakota Shultz led a 1-2-3 finish in the pole vault for the Tigers with a vault of 12-0. Madden McCall also had a vault of 12-0 and Nick Adams had a vault of 10-0.
Herbert gave T.R. Miller a first place jump in the triple jump with a 42-2 ½.
For the Lady Tigers, T.R. Miller won the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 11:11.
Karisa Nelson won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:59.37 and Amber Nelson won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.11.
Karisa Nelson also took first in the 3200 run with a time of 11:55 followed by a host of Lady Tigers Katie Nelson, Breann Huff and Hannah Blair.
The Lady Tigers won the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 5:32 and Lauren Bradley won the discus with a throw of 75-2.
Brittany Rush won the high jump with a jump of 4-6. Amber Nelson won the long jump with a jump of 14-5 and Shelby Youngblood won the pole vault with a vault of 7-0 and Madison Floyd placed second also with a 7-0 vault.
Amber Nelson won the triple jump with a jump of 32-10 ½.
