In their final regular season game on the road at Florala Tuesday, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Wildcats 14-8.
With the win, W.S. Neal ends their regular season with a 10-10 record.
At the plate for the Lady Eagles, Lauren Boatwright was 1-for-4 scoring three runs and Paige Grantham was 1-for-5 also scoring three runs.

Kena Ellison was 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored and Kaitlin Hadaway was 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs.
Hadaway earned the win on the mound for the Lady Eagles going seven innings and striking out six. Hadaway walked one and hit one batter and surrendered seven hits, eight runs with two being earned in the win.
“I am proud of the girls for finishing the regular season strong,” W.S. Neal Lady Eagle head coach Jeff Haney said. “We did a great job of putting the ball in play and making them get us out. We left a lot of runners on base though, which is something we’ve been struggling with all year. We looked a little sloppy on defense at times but came up with some big plays in key times to get us out of jams. We have a few days now to prepare for the area tournament and we are excited about our chances.”
The Lady Eagles are in a waiting game right now as to the location of the tournament. W.S. Neal will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament.
The tournament will be played at the area champion, either Jackson or Thomasville.
Haney said the game would either be one day or two depending on who wins between Thomasville and Jackson.
“That will not be decided until Friday because it deals with winning records vs. non-region opponents,” Haney said. “Thomasville and Jackson still have games this week. It will either be at Jackson on May 2 and May 3 or at Thomasville on May 3.
The two teams are tied and will come down to the tiebreakers set by the AHSAA.
