Castleberry man charged with selling marijuana

A Castleberry man was taken into custody Wednesday after Brewton Police said he sold marijuana in the Brewton area.
Mack Author Kirkland, 54, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Brewton Police Sgt. Andrew Casey said he and officers were conducting an investigation into illegal drug activity by Kirkland and took him into custody after he apparently sold marijuana in the Brewton area.
When agents searched Kirkland, Casey said, he was found to be in possession of several Lortab pills.
Kirkland was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
