The 2011 softball regionals will begin Friday in four different areas in the state. Gulf Shores will host the South Regional while Troy will host the South-Central Regional.
The North-Central Regional will be held in Vestavia Hills and the North Regional will be held in Huntsville.
Each tournament begins Friday, May 13, and concludes Saturday, May 14.
Locally, in class 3A, T.R. Miller (22-13) will play in Gulf Shores Friday morning at 9:30 p.m. against Trinity.
T.R. Miller is the area 1 runner-up behind Excel while Trinity is the area 4 champion with Montgomery Catholic as the runner-up.
With a win in round one, T.R. Miller will play the winner of Dale County and Luverne at 12:30 p.m. Friday. With a loss in round one, they will play the loser at 12:30 p.m.
