The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team’s summer play date scheduled for Friday, June 17, has changed according to head coach Greg White Thursday.
The one-day softball event was set to be a seven team affair including T.R. Miller, but will now only be four teams.
Originally along with the Lady Tigers, Pleasant Home, Gulf Shores, Thomasville, Baldwin County, Opp, and Flomaton were set to play in the tournament that was to begin at 9 a.m. at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park and conclude with the last game starting at 4:20 p.m.
Each team was set to play four games.
Now, games will begin at 10 a.m. Friday with only T.R. Miller, Pleasant Home, Baldwin County and Thomasville playing as Flomaton, Gulf Shores and Opp have dropped out.
T.R. Miller will play Pleasant Home at 10 a.m. while Thomasville and Baldwin County will play on the other field.
At 11:10 a.m., T.R. Miller and Baldwin County will play while Thomasville and Pleasant Home will square off.
A break will be held following the second games and play will resume at 1 p.m. with T.R. Miller playing Thomasville and Baldwin County and Pleasant Home.
At 2 p.m., or following the third games, T.R. Miller and Pleasant Home will play for the second time while Baldwin County and Thomasville will play on the other field in the finale.
Games will be five innings or a one-hour time limit. The 15-run rule and the 10-run rule will be in effect and a coin toss will determine the home team. The concession stand will be open at the park and admission will be $5 and will be good for all day.
All T.R. Miller games will be played on Field D.
